Thanks for your warm comments and e-mails about my last post Creating Our Own Happiness. Many of you told me that it was something that you needed to read/hear and this makes me feel happy. The truth is, I think as writers, we often write the messages that we most need to hear/know ourselves. This was the case for me when I wrote it.
I saw the below picture on facebook today WITHOUT the caption and it made me think of how runners feel when they are injured or not able to run for one reason or another. So, since I haven't wasted enough time today trying to wrap my non-techie brain around some new technology on my Mac to make a new blog header, I thought I'd go ahead and add a caption for the picture that seems to really capture the emotions that come with the "you can't run" moments in our life.

Amanda, love your new page. I am assuming you used your Mac to create the home page? If you have a minute would LOVE if you could explain how to do. I have a Mac and am another one of those people who shouldn't, because I don't use it to it's full potential! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh Marissa, I'm so NOT a techie person. This was HARD work for me. I googled how to make a blog header on a mac and found a video, then bought an app or two and made my way through it all. I'm so DONE. I'd be happy send the video...I'll try to find it. :)
DeleteSaw you posted down below! Thanks! Let's see if I can work through this :-)
DeleteHa! Love the pic and the caption. And AMEN - usually what I write is exactly what I need to say/hear/know in my heart. :)
ReplyDeleteLike the new look. The picture/caption carries a lot of weight with it - awesome and true.
ReplyDeleteLook at you with your smokin' tech skillz! Girl...you are so multi-faceted!
ReplyDeleteLove the "adult pacifier" quote. Hopefully I don't have to experience those feelings any time soon, I've had my share of running injuries over the years and this is so true. Also love the new header pictures, looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove your new header! Yep, I need to give my blog a "facelift" but not sure how to begin. Like your photo too - that's exactly how I feel if I haven't gotten my outdoor exercise fix.
ReplyDeleteAdorable! The pic and quote that is, not the non-running part;)
ReplyDeleteLove the new layout-very cute!
Love the pic and the quote! And I LOVE your new banner! LOVE IT! Please post the link to your how to video!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie. Thanks! So, the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAKYeRtUAxQ
DeleteAnd then I had to buy the keynote app for my mac and then an app called skitch. It was quite the process for me. I'm done with my blog again for another year. ha!
Thanks Amanda! I'll check it out! The only thing I do not like about my job is the tech aspect of it! But I'm learning! I used to hate even the thought of shipping now I'm shipping all over the world with no problems! You really did a great job!
DeleteHa ha! Yes!!!!! And that is why I am going for a run right now!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYep, that's how I feel!
ReplyDeleteI still absolutely love this picture. It has described my up and down roller coaster ride over the last couple of months. At least I am starting to catch a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel (knock on wood). xxxx
ReplyDeleteOMG- Just noticed your new header. I LOVE IT!!!!!! It looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI can't run right now either. #injuredrunner I could definitley scream. I'm rehabbing from a torn tendon. Didn't get to do any impact for 6 weeks, we just started doing strides in the yard last week and I already have pain, and new pain at that, in my foot. So order me a double on that scream!
ReplyDeleteIf your picture was video I'm sure there'd be the same little girl flinging herself on the floor and kicking her heels into it - full blown tantrum.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful new header! I wish I had a mac, but on my PC I put my photos into publisher, arrange them and then take a screen shot and edit further in Picasa. Sometimes it can be tricky, but it allows me to add in words, change borders, etc..
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I never thought to google a youtube video of how to make a header.
Any how, are you running? I hope you are still running!!
I LOVE your new header... how did you do that? If you have time, can you share with me??
ReplyDeleteI twisted my inner ankle and I can't stand on it let alone run. I can relate to the little girl wailing. :(
Oh...I think I can figure it out (header)... :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a funny pic, but so true!
ReplyDeleteI can't run either! Stress fracture in the tibia that jut won't quit even after being Imobilized!!!! I feel totally defeated!!!!!
