Redemption Push Ups

These were my redemption push ups after the gym tonight.  They were harder than I thought they would be.   I had big plans for the gym tonight.  Was hoping for some solid repeat miles at around 6:40 pace.  Warmed up for a slow mile and then did one mile at 6:40.  Felt pretty good.  It definitely told me that I have lost a lot but it felt like I could do several more.  After a recovery jog for a half mile, I picked it up again but it just didn't feel right.  My hamstring felt tight and something just wasn't right.  Instead of pushing through it, I decided to play it safe and be smart.  I finished my workout on the stair climber and elliptical.  I ended with some stretching, foam rolling and then came home and iced after my kid redemption push ups.

I took this picture last night of my girls before bed.  This goes along with my last blog : When The Pieces Come Together. Learning To Read and Achieving New Levels as a Runner.  So precious for me to find them like this....as a mother and a teacher.

Thanks again for such awesome playlist suggestions for my iPod!  You guys are awesome!

  3. One of my kids weights over 200 lbs. If I were to try that I would definitely use the lightest kid.

  4. NIIICE!!! love the push up video. smart to cut it short at the gym. So sorry you can't post on my blog. Don't know what to do... you aren't the only one though that has told me that...but then others can comment, so i don't know what the issue is. I'll just count on you to read and no need to comment! :)

  5. That is just a beautiful photo!! :)

The push-ups! I am impressed!! I do 20-25 regular ones during stretching, but have never tried with the kids on. Would certainly be harder. Not sure I could even get 5. Funny!

I like to do my lunges and squats with my 5 year old on my shoulders when I can't get to the weight room.

  6. Cutest picture ever. please give me some of your strength...holy cow I can barely do push-ups on my own let alone a human on my back:) Great job being careful with the hamstring!

P.S. I love sneaking in candy in my purse to the movies...best way to do it.

  7. Thanks. ERG, definitely tougher than I thought. I usually do 15-20 regular ones but after Jillian today and the gym, I only had 8 of these babies in me. :)

Good thinking playing it safe with the hamstring- but great job with the ultra fast mile!

  10. 6:40 is awesome! And here I thought I was doing good in the low-7's. Guess I have more speed to re-find!

  13. I SUCK at push-ups. Seriously. I mean I am embarrassingly bad. I'm going to try to do some tonight and I'll report back with how many I was able to do. So the fact that you can do them with a cute little person on your bag is just amazing to me!
